Packed bag

I am finally ready to depart after a long day of packing and repacking and shopping and back-and-forth. the bag is almost packed completely and it appears that I will be at about 27 lbs for the one bag that I am taking.

Tomorrow Grandma Shirley is taking me to the Cedar Rapids airport very early. I guess we are leaving at 5AM so that I can be at the terminal at 6AM. The flight is set at 8:15. It is always good to be ahead of time, however.

What have a packed? I packed what I normally take (this is my fourth trip to Europe thus far): socks, underwear, shirts, pants, toiletries, travel books/maps, coats, running gear, mp3 player, journal, reading material, camera, gum, water bottle, . All of this in one bag, you mind.

What have I changed? I am taking two pairs of shoes for the first time-- I might be sorry if the bag is weighing me down. I am also packing NY Times crosswords, two coats instead of one, a tripod for the camera, ski hat for Scandinavia. I decided not to take shaving gear for I will buy it there.

How I will miss everyone especially Jordan. But, I will be in touch through email, blog and phone calls. If anyone needs to contact me, email me at jason.stecklein@gmail.com. I will respond ASAP. Please add your comments on the blog also for I can respond on the blog.

I am flying from Cedar Rapids to Minneapolis then on to Newark and finally from Newark to Amsterdam. I am staying in one of my favorite spots... Haarlem, Netherlands. It is a lovely, quaint city near to Amsterdam and the last time I was there I ran into Brad Pitt and the crew when they were filming "Ocean's Twelve" three years ago.

Hi!!!!

I cannot believe that your travel bag weighs a wopping 27 pounds!! How can you possibly carry that on your back? (Then again, this is your fourth trip to Europe, and you are probably used to the extra weight.)
By the time you read this, you will be in Europe! (I hope that the time change will not bother you
very much.) I faintly remember that you will be arriving in Scandinavia today. I can't think of where you landed. (Is it Norway? I might be off.) Are you excited about visiting northern Europe? (I would be, especially since this is your first time!) I hope that you see the beautiful landscapes in the Scandinavian countries.
Please blog about the airports and plane rides when you post. (If you can't post anytime soon, that's fine. I don't know if you are near civiliaztion. :)
Love,
Jordan
